What's the difference between Fast Forward by sbtpg and standard ACH direct deposit?
When you use Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (sbtpg) to pay for tax preparation with your tax refund you can choose to upgrade with Fast Forward to receive your federal tax refund up to 5 days early or you may choose the standard ACH direct deposit.*
Here are the differences between Fast Forward and the standard ACH direct deposit.
Fast Forward
- Works with: checking and savings accounts
- Refund available: 3-5 days earlier than expected IRS release
- Cost: $25 Fast Forward Fee plus Refund Transfer fee
Standard ACH direct deposit
- Works with: checking and savings accounts
- Refund available: on day of expected IRS release
- Cost: Refund Transfer fee

Fast Forward by sbtpg is provided by Green Dot Bank. Terms and fees apply. To be eligible for Fast Forward, you must have a Refund Transfer for a federal tax refund that is no more than $10,000 and have selected direct deposit. Availability may vary based on your bank participating in Real-Time Payments, IRS pre-notification of pending refund deposit, and availability of funds. $25.00 fee is not charged if you are ineligible. If a new Green Dot card is selected in the tax office, you will receive the federal refund up to five days early without being charged the $25.00 fee.
